Setup Marketmaker® on my PC

Before you can trade CFDs using Marketmaker® you’ll need to download and install it. Download and system requirements are below.

Log on to Marketmaker®

To log on to Marketmaker® for the first time you’ll need your User ID and Username. You’ll find them on the account-opening email you received from CMC Markets. If you can’t locate this email, please contact our CFD Client Services team. You’ll also need to enter the password you chose during the account-opening process.

The login screen looks like this:

  • Your user ID should start with a ‘1’ and have seven digits, for example, 1234567
  • Your username was included in your account-opening email, and may contain both letters and numbers
  • Your password is the one you chose during the account-opening process
  • Please note your password is case-sensitive
Forgotten your password?

To change your password please send an email to password@cmcmarkets.com.au stating your account number and we will generate a new password for you and send it to your registered email address.

I can't login to Marketmaker®

I get the error message 'User not authorised'

If you receive the error message 'User not authorised' you should check that you have entered your User ID and Username in correctly, if this still doesnt work, please contact client services.

I get the error message 'Password is invalid'

If you receive the error message 'Password is invalid' you should check that you have entered your password correctly, if you need to reset your password please send an email to password@cmcmarkets.com.au stating your account number and we will generate a new password for you and send it to your registered email address.

Marketmaker® freezes after I attempt to login

This should be down to either your password not being set or a firewall issue. If you need to reset your password you can do this by sending an email to password@cmcmarkets.com.au stating your account number, we will generate a new password for you and send it to your registered email address. On potential firewall issues, ensure 'MarketMaker' is listed in the exceptions of your firewall, for further information please contact your firewall provider.

I get a Marketmaker® error saying im running 'multiple instances' when I try and login

You will normally see this error if your MarketMaker application has recently crashed.

To login to MarketMaker again you will either need to restart your PC or follow the instructions below.

  1. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete on your keyboard
  2. Click on 'Task Manager'
  3. Click on the 'Processes' tab
  4. Click the 'Image Name' column header
  5. Terminate the processes called 'iiappstart', 'iidownloader', 'iilauncher' by clicking on the item once and then clicking the 'End Process' button at the bottom of the window
